Filter Press Fabrics
High-performance filter cloths for chamber filter presses and plate-and-frame presses. Engineered for clean cake release, maximum throughput, and long service life.
About Filter Presses
Filter presses are the workhorses of industrial solid-liquid separation. They operate by pumping slurry into chambers formed between recessed plates, each covered with a filter cloth. The liquid passes through the fabric while solids accumulate as a filter cake.
Two main configurations exist: chamber filter presses (recessed plates) and plate-and-frame presses (alternating plates and frames). Both require precisely tailored filter cloths for optimal performance.
Typical Applications
Common Challenges
Filter press fabrics face unique demands. Understanding these challenges guides the selection of the right fabric construction.
Cake Release
Sticky or fine-particle cakes that adhere to the cloth surface, requiring manual intervention and increasing cycle times.
Cloth Blinding
Progressive pore blockage that reduces filtration rate and requires frequent cleaning or replacement.
Chemical Attack
Aggressive slurries containing acids, alkalis, or solvents that degrade standard fabric materials.
Plate Fit
Each press model requires precisely cut and sewn cloths — incorrect fit causes leaks, uneven cakes, and premature wear.
Drip & Leak Control
Feed port areas and sealing zones must prevent bypass and dripping between plates during the filtration cycle.
Filtrate Clarity
Achieving target particle retention while maintaining adequate flow rate — a balance of pore size and permeability.

Technical Considerations
Custom Tailoring
Every filter press model has unique plate dimensions, feed port positions, and hanging mechanisms. We manufacture cloths cut and sewn to your exact specifications.
Reinforced Edges
Double-layered or bound edges at high-stress zones prevent fraying and extend cloth life, especially in automated presses with mechanical plate shifting.
Drip-Proof Options
Sealed feed port areas and raised sealing beads prevent slurry bypass and inter-plate dripping, maintaining filtrate quality and workplace cleanliness.
Surface Treatments
PTFE-based easy-release coatings and calendering treatments create smooth surfaces for clean cake discharge without adhesion.
Industries Using Filter Presses
Filter presses are the workhorse in these key sectors.
