About Rotary Vacuum Drum Filters
Rotary vacuum drum filters (RVDF), also known as RVD filters, are continuous filtration machines where a slowly rotating drum, partially submerged in slurry, draws liquid through the filter cloth by vacuum. The cake forms on the drum surface and is removed by a doctor blade or roller as the drum rotates past the discharge zone.
RVD filters are valued for their simplicity, reliability, and ability to handle a wide range of slurry types. Variants include standard top-feed, bottom-feed, and precoat drum filters for especially challenging applications.
