About Agitated Nutsche Filters
Agitated Nutsche filters (ANFs) are closed, pressure-rated vessels used for batch filtration, washing, and drying of chemical and pharmaceutical products. A rotating agitator smooths and redistributes the cake, enabling thorough displacement washing and uniform drying — all within a single contained unit.
The filter fabric sits on a perforated support plate at the bottom of the vessel. It must resist aggressive solvents, withstand mechanical stress from the agitator, and provide consistent retention without fibre shedding into the product. Seamless construction is preferred to eliminate contamination from seams and stitching.

ANF filtration places unique demands on the filter fabric due to agitator contact, solvent exposure, and purity requirements.
Solvent Resistance
ANFs handle aggressive organic solvents (DCM, toluene, acetone, THF). The filter fabric must maintain integrity and dimensional stability in continuous solvent contact.
Agitator Stress
The rotating agitator contacts the cake and can damage the cloth. The fabric must resist mechanical abrasion without developing weak spots or holes.
Seamless Construction
Seams and stitching create contamination risk. Seamless, single-piece fabrics eliminate thread migration and particle entrapment at joins.
Cake Washing Efficiency
Effective displacement washing requires uniform permeability across the entire cloth area. Variations cause channelling and incomplete washing.
Product Purity
No fibre shedding, no extractables, no particulate contamination. The fabric must not contribute any foreign material to the product.
Precise Fit
Each ANF has specific plate diameter and mounting details. The cloth must fit precisely to prevent bypass at the edges and ensure the full area contributes to filtration.
