Belt Filter Fabrics
Continuous filter belts for horizontal vacuum belt filters and gravity drainage systems. Engineered for high throughput, consistent dewatering, and long belt life.
About Belt Filters
Belt filters use a continuous fabric loop to transport slurry through dewatering zones — typically gravity drainage, vacuum, and compression stages. The filter belt is the core functional element, determining throughput, cake quality, and operational reliability.
Horizontal vacuum belt filters (HVBF) are widely used in mining, chemical processing, and wastewater treatment for continuous high-volume filtration. The belt must withstand mechanical stress from tracking rollers, vacuum suction, and cake scraping while maintaining consistent permeability.
Typical Applications
Common Challenges
Belt filters present unique demands on the filter fabric due to continuous operation and mechanical stress.
Belt Tracking
The fabric must run straight and stable on the machine. Dimensional stability and edge reinforcement prevent drift and edge wear.
Permeability Stability
Consistent air and liquid permeability across the belt width ensures uniform cake formation and dewatering performance.
Cake Discharge
The cake must release cleanly at the discharge point. Surface treatments and optimised weave patterns enable reliable gravity or scraper discharge.
Mechanical Durability
Continuous flexing over rollers, tension loads, and scraper contact require high-strength yarns and abrasion-resistant constructions.
Seaming & Joining
Belt filters require endless belts or clipper seams. Joint quality determines belt life and prevents leaks at the seam zone.
Washability
Built-in spray wash bars clean the belt each revolution. The fabric must release residual particles effectively to prevent progressive blinding.
