About Pressure Leaf Filters
Pressure leaf filters consist of multiple flat filter elements (leaves) stacked inside a pressure vessel. Slurry is pumped into the vessel under pressure, and filtrate passes through the cloth covering each leaf, while solids accumulate as a cake on the leaf surface.
These filters are widely used for polishing filtration, bleaching earth removal in edible oil refining, catalyst recovery in chemical processes, and clarification of beverages and pharmaceutical solutions. The filter cloth must provide excellent clarity while allowing high flow rates.

Leaf Fit Precision
Each leaf has specific dimensions and frame profiles. The cloth must be precisely sewn as a bag or envelope to fit the leaf without wrinkles or bypass.
Filtrate Clarity
Polishing applications demand crystal-clear filtrate. Fine retention and consistent pore structure are essential from the first filtration cycle.
Chemical & Thermal Stability
Exposure to hot oils (up to 120°C), solvents, and acids requires materials that maintain strength and dimensional stability over extended service.
Cake Discharge
Pressure leaf filters discharge cake by sluicing, vibration, or blow-back. The cloth surface must promote clean release to minimise residual buildup.
Seam Integrity
The bag/envelope must withstand internal pressure without seam failure. Reinforced seams and quality stitching are critical for reliable operation.
Precoat Compatibility
Many applications use diatomaceous earth or perlite precoat. The cloth must support uniform precoat deposition and retain the filter aid layer.
