About Fluid Bed Dryers
Fluid bed dryers (FBDs) use heated air to fluidise and dry granular or powdered materials. The filter bags at the top of the unit capture product particles carried upward by the air stream, preventing product loss and protecting the exhaust system. These bags are critical for both product yield and environmental compliance.
In pharmaceutical applications, FBDs are also used for granulation and coating processes. Here, the filter bags must meet stringent hygiene requirements — no fibre shedding, no contamination from stitching threads, and full traceability of materials. Ultrasonic welding eliminates needle holes and thread contamination entirely.

Octopus Bags
Multi-arm bag assemblies that maximise filter area within the FBD housing. The most common configuration for pharmaceutical and chemical fluid bed dryers.
Finger Bags
Individual elongated bags arranged in rows. Easy to replace individually. Common in smaller FBD units and laboratory/pilot-scale equipment.
Cylindrical Cartridges
Rigid or semi-rigid filter elements for high-containment applications. Used in potent compound handling and OEB-classified processes.
Ultrasonically Welded
No stitching, no needle holes, no thread contamination. The gold standard for pharmaceutical FBD bags — eliminates cross-contamination risk entirely.
Anti-Static (ESD)
Conductive fibres woven or needled into the fabric dissipate electrostatic charge. Essential for ATEX-classified zones and flammable powder processing.
Snap-Ring & Cuff Systems
Bags fitted with inflatable cuffs, snap rings, or O-ring seals for tool-free installation. Compatible with Glatt, GEA, Bosch, ACG, and other OEM systems.
