Polyamide (PA / Nylon) Filter Fabric

Polyamide offers the best abrasion resistance of any standard filter polymer, combined with outstanding elasticity and excellent alkali resistance. The preferred choice for fine particle retention in pharmaceutical, food, and fine chemical processes.

Material Properties

Superior Abrasion Resistance

The highest abrasion resistance of all standard filter polymers. Ideal for abrasive mineral slurries and high-cycle applications.

Temperature Range

Continuous operation up to 120 °C (PA6) or 130 °C (PA66). Good dimensional stability at elevated temperatures.

Alkali Resistance

Good resistance to alkalis and many organic solvents. Not suitable for strong mineral acids (pH < 3).

Moisture Absorption

PA absorbs moisture (4–8%), which can slightly affect dimensional stability in wet environments. Factor into specification.

Fine Particle Retention

Multifilament PA fabrics achieve excellent fine particle retention, down to single-digit micron range in satin weave configurations.

FDA Compliant Grades

Available in food-contact compliant grades (PA6, PA66) for dairy, beverage, and pharmaceutical filtration.
